Everglades-style airboat tours from Orlando

Airboat rides near Orlando don’t go to Everglades National Park. Several listings say “Everglades”, but the rides start in Kissimmee and Kenansville. Wild Florida calls its swamps the Central Florida Everglades.

An airboat is a flat boat pushed by a big fan, so it can cross shallow marsh. Three of our rides leave from Kissimmee. The Wild Florida ride leaves from Kenansville.

Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures, one Kissimmee operator, lists half-hour tours from about $34 and one-hour tours from about $54 on its own site (checked 25 October 2026). Its prices are in US dollars.

A ride lasts 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, so it fits next to another day trip from Orlando.

Seeing alligators from an airboat

Alligators, turtles and wading birds live in these marshes, the listings say. But they are wild, so no ride can promise a sighting.

A longer ride gives you more time to look. The 1.5-hour tour also looks for bald eagles.

If you want to be sure to see gators, add a gator park. Three of our picks include one: the Wild Florida park, the gator pond at the Kissimmee dock, and Gatorland.

Alligator parks: Gatorland and Wild Florida

Gatorland in Orlando has thousands of alligators and crocodiles, shows and rare white alligators, the listing says. It has a small water play area, so bring a towel.

Wild Florida in Kenansville has a gator park, an airboat dock and a drive-thru safari with more than 100 animals. For the safari you need your own car.

Gatorland or an airboat ride?

Pick Gatorland to see many gators up close, on any day within a year. Pick an airboat ride for speed and open marsh. The Wild Florida ride gives you both: a 30-minute ride and the wildlife park.

Before you book an airboat ride

  1. What to wear

Dress for the weather, the listings say. Wear sunscreen in summer. Bring a light jacket, because it is cooler on the water.

  2. Tips are extra

None of the four rides includes tips. Photos holding a live gator at Wild Florida cost extra too.

  3. Ride in the morning

Summer storms are common. The National Weather Service says over 90% of the area’s lightning falls from May to October, between noon and midnight.

  4. If it rains

If a tour company cancels for bad weather, you get your money back, GetYourGuide’s terms say. Boggy Creek says it may change tours for weather.

  5. Getting there

None of these includes hotel pickup. For the drive-thru safari you must bring your own car.
