How Universal Express works
Universal Express lets you skip the regular line through a separate, shorter one. It is an add-on: park admission is not included.
So first you need one of the Universal Orlando tickets. Then you add Express for the day you want it.
- Universal Express: a shorter line once per ride. Valid at Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe and Volcano Bay.
- Express Unlimited: the shorter line as often as you like. Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure only.
- Express Now: one ride in a set time window. Sold only in the Universal app, in the park, on the day.
What Universal Express costs
At Universal, Express for one park costs from about $120 to $320 per person, plus tax. The price depends on the date. Universal’s prices are in US dollars.
On GetYourGuide, the Islands of Adventure pass starts from €109. The Universal Studios pass starts from €111, and the 2-Park pass from €119.
Express passes sold in the park often sell out, Universal says. It suggests you buy ahead.

- Islands of Adventure pass
- from €109
- Universal Studios pass
- from €111
- 2-Park pass

Which rides Express does not cover
Express does not work on every ride. Universal names these rides where it is not valid.
- Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure
- Pteranodon Flyers
- Dragon Racer’s Rally (Epic Universe)
- Kopiko Wai (Volcano Bay)
- TeAwa (Volcano Bay)
The Islands of Adventure Express pass
The Islands of Adventure pass gives you shorter lines at that park only, on one date. You choose once per ride or unlimited.
It is the cheapest pass here, from €109. But it is rated 3.7 from 27 reviews on GetYourGuide, below our usual bar. If you plan to see both parks, the 2-Park pass covers more.
Is there an Express pass for Volcano Bay?
- Once
- per ride, with Universal Express
- Spring 2027
- planned reopening
Yes, Universal Express works at Volcano Bay, once per ride. Express Unlimited does not. None of the passes on this page covers Volcano Bay.
Volcano Bay is also closed from 26 October 2026 until spring 2027 (checked 25 October 2026). Buy Volcano Bay Express from Universal once it reopens.
The VIP Experience: Express plus a guide
The VIP Experience is a 7-hour guided tour of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. It starts from €295 per person on GetYourGuide.
You get front-of-line access on the tour, a one-time Express pass for the rides, breakfast and lunch. Valet parking for one car is included if space allows.
You still need a Park-to-Park ticket. Under-18s must come with an adult. The tour is not for residents of the US, UK or Canada.
Before you buy Universal Express
You still need a ticket
